Stock Photo Images of Blackjacket Wasp Vespula consobrina

Blackjacket Wasp Vespula consobrina. A new set of stock photos by Ernie Hunter This is a mild mannered wasp unlike the Yellow Jacket. It is black with five yellow strips across it's abdomen and two perpendicular strips just behind it's wings. These are slightly curved inward to form what look like brackets. It has large compound eyes on the front of it's head and two antennae bent slightly forward. When landed it holds it's wings in an upright V shape and does not rest them back on it's body.
