Steam Engines and Tractors. A new set of stock photos by Ernie Hunter George White & Sons of London, J.I. Case of Racine, WI and Waterloo Manufacturing of Waterloo, ON were some of the major players in Steam Engines and later Steam Tractors from the late 1800's until around 1925. Steam Engines provided power for thrashing machines, saw mills and other machinery but horses were needed to move them. Steam traction engines were the answer. They could pull larger plows and tillage equipment than horses and provided belt power for many implements. View more stock photography from Ernie Hunter here.
