Polar Bears - Individuals. A new set of stock photos by Carole-Anne Fooks At the beginning of November each year about 800 Polar Bears gather at Churchill, Canada, on the shores of Hudson Bay waiting for the big freeze so they can go hunting over the winter. They have been fasting for about 8 months. Due to global warming the arctic is freezing less and later each year making it more and more difficult for the Polar Bears to get enough food. Present science indicates that the population will be decimated in about 30 years time unless there is dramatic change. View more stock photography from Carole-Anne Fooks here.

Featured Photographer: Karen Prescott. Australian familes landscape and animals

Karen Prescott is a Australian familes landscape and animals based in Brisbane Qld Australia. Karen describes her photography as follows:

They say "never work with children or animals" but that is what I love to do! Capturing the innocence and unconditional love of a child with their family on camera is inspring. I always find kids are photographed best at play or in the garden having fun. That is when we as a family are most at ease and so are the kids. Now, throw in the family pet, a blue sunny sky and we have images that create memories. I am based in South East Qld, near Brisbane and Ipswich. Life is fun! Capture it!

Karen lists her interests as wide and varied. Camping near iconic Australian beaches, walking and gardening in my spare time are just some of my favorites. They keep my spare time full of photographic opportunities. On acreage outside Brisbane city we are regularly visited by the iconic Australian wildlife. Our most regular are the kangaroos. Building my nature friendly, serene, beauitful garden is like photography. It takes time and patience!

Karen has over 30 years experience and still learning new techniques every day. Training and working as a wedding photographer in the 80's with sone of Brisbane's best known studios I then went on to shoot babies, families and cat walks. After many, many short courses, seminars and on the job training I currently specialise in family portraiture and the study continues.

Karen joined GlobalEye back in April 2010 and currently has 82 Australian familes landscape and animals stock images listed in the Global Eye catalog. You can view Karen's Portfolio here or browse her Australian familes landscape and animals website here.
