Green Iguanas. A new set of stock photos by Stephan Hinni Green Iguanas or Common Iguanas (Iguana iguana) are among the largest lizards in the Americas, averaging around 2 meters (6.5 feet) long and weighing about 9 kilograms (20 pounds). The green iguana's extensive area include the rain forests of northern Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean Islands, and southern Brazil. They spend most of their lives in the trees near water.
