Peter Cowan is a Aboriginal Children, Community & Culture Photographer based in Hove South Australia. Recently Peter has been taking a photojournalistic approach to life in Aboriginal communities, hoping to show the positive aspects of their lives, particularly education and their culture. He now intends to take the same approach to (mainly) South Australian rural life. Peter lists his interests as Music, reading theatre, sport, family, outdoors. His initial training came from doing portraits, weddings and the sports photos for a country paper, with the odd job for metropolitan dailies. After a break, he's had the opportunity to be in remote Aboriginal communities where, after gaining the trust of the people, Peter has done family photos and photographed aspects of their lives, including (at the families request) the funeral of a baby. Peter joined GlobalEye back in August 2010 and currently has over 600 images of Aboriginal Children, Community & Cultuure listed in the Global Eye catalog.
