Stock Photos of Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspiculatus)

Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspiculatus). A new set of stock photos by Marilyn Miles The Australian Pelican is a large member of the pelican family and has the distinction of having the biggest beak of all birds. With a wingspan of 2.5m, they make a magnificent sight when soaring over the inlets and lakes searching for schools of fish. Nervous and secretive when breeding, pelicans are less timid when it comes to begging for food. They greet fishing boats at the jetties around the Peel Inlet in hope of a free meal, and on occasion, grab a sandwich from an unsuspecting tourist!
