Dainty Swallowtail Butterflies. A new set of stock photos by Kelly Newman The Dainty Swallowtail Butterfly has chequered black and white forewings. The hind wings are white with black trailing border containing a row of small blue spots inside an arc of five red spots. The hind wings have a very short tail. The males are very territorial and hover over their patch and chase any intruders away. The photos of them mating were taken on the same day and all full framed.
