Memorial Fountain, Mission Bay, Auckland New Zealand

Memorial Fountain, Mission Bay, Auckland New Zealand A new set of stock photos by David Guthrie. A feature of Auckland's popular Mission Bay, on the harbour waterfront, is its memorial fountain. Given to the city in 1950 by the Hon. Eliot R. Davis in memory of his son Trevor, who died in 1947, the fountain is splendid both by day and by night. The size of the central feature was determined by the amount of electrical adn mechanical plant that had to be accommodated. The facing is of white Sicilian marble, fluted and wrought to catch the light and shadows from the pool. View stock photography from David Guthrie here.
