The Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne. A new set of stock photos by Leonie Bourke These images focus on details of 3 attractions in Melbourne's Fitzroy Gardens - the Conservatory, the Fairies' Tree and the model Tudor Village. From 1931 to 1934 Ola Cohn carved fairies, dwarfs, gnomes and Australian birds and animals on a Red Gum stump 'for the fairies and those who believe in them'. The Tudor Village was modelled in cement by London pensioner Edgar Wilson and presented to the City of Melbourne in appreciation of food parcels sent to Britain during the Second World War.
