High Atlas Mountains in Morocco. A new set of stock photos by Heather Farish The High Atlas Mountains are home to the Berbers, the traditional inhabitants, with a lifestyle that still has many features from centuries ago:- earthen houses, groves of walnuts, irrigation channels that are fed from melting snow, using mules to transport goods and tracks that meander around the mountainsides. Not only is it an opportunity to experience a fascinating history but also to see how the 21st century is impacting both on it and the natural environment on which it is built.
